Zarra Boyd, Inc was established in 1993 by Mr. Nicholas Zarra, PE and Mr. Jack L. Boyd, PLS. A small to mid-size company established to provide high quality personalized Civil Engineering, Land Surveying and Land Planning services with competitive fees at a time when large companies with large fees ruled the day. Through the years we have provided surveying services in Pinellas, Pasco, and Hillsborough counties for a wide range of clients. From providing consulting services to small private developers just getting started in the business to local churches and charities (20 plus schools and churches for the Diocese of St. Petersburg and Pinellas Hope for Catholic Charities), local muncipalities and school boards ( we have worked on over 50 schools in Pinellas County) to national and local home builders that have recognized Zarra Boyd, Inc. for our service, scheduling and contribution to the success of over 75 residential communities, as well as individual custom home sites.
Jack Boyd had hands on field experience dating back to the early 1970’s with George F.Young, to survey manager with Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan in the early 1980’s. A co-founder and owner of Appenzeller, Boyd and Zarra, Inc. A dedicated family man, a man of principals and character and a pillar in the surveying community until his untimely passing in 2008. He is greatly missed by all.
Nick Zarra is a graduate of Newark College of Engineering. In 1970, he received his M.B.A. from the University of Miami. In 1971, he got his start as a Civil Engineer in New Jersey and then moved to Florida to become the Regional Manager of Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan’s Clearwater Office in the early 1980’s. He was a co-founder and owner of Appenzeller, Boyd, and Zarra, Inc. in the mid 1980’s and early 1990’s. He then became a co-founder and owner of Zarra Boyd, Inc. successfully serving our clients for the last 17 years. Nick is a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and a member of Our Lady of Llordes Catholic Church. Nick retired in October 2010 but is still active and available to offer advice or consultation to its current owner Mark S. Lischalk, PLS.
Mark Lischalk began his Land Surveying career at 16 when he was hired by Jack Boyd in 1983 at Post, Buckley, Schuh and Jernigan where he began working on a survey field crew. Throughout the years Mark has worked with both Jack and Nick at Appenzeller, Boyd and Zarra, Inc. and at Zarra Boyd, Inc. working his way through all aspects of field surveying. He obtained his Professional Land Surveyor license with the State of Florida in 1997 and became Vice President in 2008. He purchased the company from Nick in October of 2010 and continues Zarra Boyd, Inc. commitment to high quality personalized services. A dedicated husband and father to his wife and three children.
